Close Encounters

There's so much going on at Hamilton Zoo each day, from de luxe behind-the-scenes Eye 2 Eye tours and daily Meet The Keeper talks, through to our exciting new Face 2 Face Encounters.

Face 2 Face is our newest animal encounter offering, and has been attracting visitors from as far away as Melbourne since it began last month.

Each day we offer a close-up Face -2-Face Encounter with a different animal.  For just $10 per person you can hand-feed lemurs or capuchins, or watch the keepers feed the big cats while near enough to feel their breath!

Suzanne Hunt took part in our Ring-Tailed Lemur Face 2 Face and said, "The highlight was having two of them sitting on my lap.  It was so much nicer than seeing them through glass."

Kirsty Middleton of Auckland took part in the Cheetah Face 2 Face and found it an incredible experience.  She was impressed by the intimacy of the tour, "Our keeper was fantastic.  He tailored the tour directly to our group.  It was very relaxing and the cheetahs were really friendly characters."

Kirsty is already planning her next trip to Hamilton Zoo, "I want to take a week off work and do each and every Face 2 Face!"
