Hamilton Zoo is a fabulous place for students to visit.  It is literally a living, breathing classroom bursting with almost 600 native and exotic animals, and endless learning opportunities!

Our Education Department can provide a fun and interactive experience for your students with:

• Friendly and knowledgable NZ trained and registered teachers
• Curriculum based education, specifically designed to meet each classes' individual and unique requirements
• A stimulating and interactive classroom environment, with loads to see, learn and touch!
• Exciting learning opportunities throughout your visit - no visit to the Zoo is ever the same
• Extensive resources
• Special discounted education rates

We can also provide worksheets and extra resources for your visit, as well as follow up activities and extension opportunities.  If there is something you would like to learn at the Zoo that isn't covered in our series of sessions, we are more than happy to work with you to develop further learning opportunities.

Primary and Secondary School Learning Experiences

We offer a wide range of learning formats, ranging from:

• Teacher Led (No Educator Required) Observations in the Zoo Grounds
• Indepth Sessions (Curriculum Focused, Indepth Discussions)

We offer a discounted rate of $5 per head (including students and adults) for Primary and Secondary School Learning Experiences.

Early Childhood Education Experiences

Early Childhood Groups will get the most out of their visit to Hamilton Zoo by following their own interests and exploring the surroundings and animals at their own leisurely pace.

We offer a discounted rate of $5 per head (including children and adults) for Early Childhood Education Bookings, which are available Monday to Friday during the New Zealand Primary School Term.
