Hamilton Zoo is home to almost 600 native New Zealand and exotic animals, and is set in 25ha of tranquil surroundings.

Take time to see the wonders of the living world in a wildlife sanctuary renowned for its generous habitats and sympathetic approach to conservation.

Enjoy the largest walk-through aviary in Australasia, landscaped with New Zealand native plants and home to endangered native birds, and check out our realistic Waikato wetland area at the lower end of the Zoo. 

Hamilton Zoo boasts beautiful garden settings and paved pathways and boardwalks - an ideal place for a recreational visit, with guided tours by arrangement.
