Food and Beverage
Flavours Cafe has a delicious menu of both hot and cold food, and caters to both adults and children (including kids packs). It is open from 9am to 4.30pm each day (excluding Christmas Day when the zoo is closed). It also provides great tea and espresso coffee as well as cold drinks and ice creams for the kids.
They also offer catering for private functions - from kids birthday parties to corporate dinners.
Picnic and BBQ Areas
We have several picturesque picnic areas at the zoo, some with cold drink vending machines and bbq facilities.
Shopping
Our retail store is open every day from 9am to 4.30pm and is packed full of fun souvenirs, gifts, apparel, clothing and toys.
Amenities
We offer a wide range of facilities at Hamilton Zoo to make your time here more comfortable and enjoyable.
The following is available for hire from reception (it is advisable to book these in advance if you want to be assured of availability):
- Mobility scooters – three available. Hire charge is $10 per scooter, for up to 3 hours. You will be required to sign a waiver form prior to use.
- Child push chair – three available. Hire charge is $5 per chair, for up to 3 hours.
- Gas barbecues – the zoo has several portable gas barbecues, to hire for up to 2 hours, and 2 electric ones which operate on coins.
- Store cupboards – three lockable store cupboards available. A $20 refundable key bond is required for each (redeemable on return of the key/s), conditions apply.
Toilets and parent/child facilities – Toilets (male, female & disabled) and baby changing facilities are situated in the upper and lower zoo. Check our map to see locations.
Parking – Hamilton Zoo has a large car park providing free off-street parking for cars, charter buses and tour coaches.
Wheelchair access – Most visitor paths are paved, but there are a few slopes where assistance may be required.
Children’s playground – Located at the upper zoo.
